Hardest part is deciding where to stop the disassembly. Its addictive after awhile seeing the parts all cleaned and painted. No frame off for her just wire wheel rust, primer and a few cans of ford blue.

With you finger wipe a thin layer of grease over the tag on the injection pump before you paint it, after the paint dries you can wipe off the grease and have a readable tag

Those are just the best small tractors.
Very nimble, powerful for their size, lots of features and great longevity.
Good on you for keeping that one up to snuff for another generation or two.

I find the process therapeutic. I just turned 57 and celebrated first grandbaby. I wont make it to 102 but my dream is that my grandkids will be tinkering with the 3000 when she turns 100..

Big improvement! I did a 960 except for the sheet metal pretty much the same way, around twenty years ago. Finally after being retired, three years ago I got to taking it apart a lot more, and doing a full prep, prime, and paint.
