‘69 5200 diesel 8 speed. Has the turbo setup from a 7200 on it. The original 5200 radiator has give up the ghost. I would really prefer to replace it with a 7200 radiator with more tubes than the original 3 tube if they will interchange. Tractor will run a little warm but not hot. Im finding all kinds of contradicting info when researching fitment.
If anyone has any feedback on this, I would loved to be schooled on this. Thanks.

7000/7200 turbo tractors have engine oil coolers in the bottom of the radiator where 5000 did not
Both are 3 row cores but 7000 usually had more fins per inch for better heat dissipation
5000 normally had a 4 blade fan while 7000 had 6 or 7 blade, if your running a 4 blade fan I’d swap out for at least a 6 blade, 7 blade takes a different shroud
7000/7200 radiator is a direct fit on a 5000/5200 chassis
Some aftermarket radiators don’t have the same size cores as originals, core sizes are normally 1/2”, 5/8” and 3/4”, 7000 should have 3/4” cores
I recently purchased a new radiator for my 6600 that had 5/8” cores, the aftermarket I received has 1/2” cores, not happy about that but swapping on a 6 blade fan to move more air has kept temps in check

Great information. I bought this tractor 42 yrs ago with the turbo already on it. Haven’t been around any others to compare to. I didn’t know about the different fan blades, that said mine has had the 6 blade put on it. I assumed the 7200 radiator had more tubes after checking radiators on this site and they offer a 5 tube for a 7200. Would a 5 tube help for running a bit cooler? I really appreciate the help. Thanks

A lot of the 4 and 5 row radiators they sell for these tractors have smaller cores double and triple stacked offering less cooling efficiency than a larger cored 3 row
The radiators can be not wider or taller and only as thick as the factory tank width so to have that many core they have to be much smaller
