More 1955 hydraulic questions.

I got a two step assembly from Maibach and it works nice. Agree that for some reason, that 70 thing makes getting on and off tractors so much more difficult. :( Only to be young again....

I have been running Olivers here on the ranch for over 30 years, I USED to actually enjoy working on them, that was until I bought a 1955, that tractor evidently evolved beyond the engineer's ability to think straight, what a freaking nightmare!
I know one poster here said the remote hoses could be changed without removing the fender, well I do not believe that.
I would LOVE to see someone try to change the hoses on a 1955 with fuel tank fenders mounted inboard and the massive external cylinders in the way, would never happen.
And then you figure out that Oliver figured out that regular off the shelf fittings would not work so they sources some 1/2" O ring boss to 3/8" hose fittings that are nowhere to be found, what a bunch of morons, at least it worked until they were all gone..
So I am now having to put the damn thing BACK together to get it out of my way until the solution above fittings get here, just another $100 down the drain on fittings that will not work, dumb a$$ me thought that 1/2 ports and 1/2 couplings would have 1/2" hoses, but I was just not retarded enough to figure out that would not work.
Evidently the same bozo designed the cover over the hydraulic controls also

And what idiot would call the engine shut down cable simply "wire" and put it under "governor controls"that makes finding it in the parts book easy....

lol. fun times. it is a CF on that side w 4 hoses for dual remotes, pto valve lines, and the cat3 cyl and hose.

you can drop the cat3 cyls easily IF the bottom pins aren't rusted in from sitting outside. they decided to skip a grease zerk for those, but top pins have them with a lot less surface area. if they rusted, the drawbar cradle has to be pulled to press them out; the 4 cradle "alignment" pins will love you.
might as well plan on dropping new seals in the cyls while you're at it. if they aren't leaking now, they probably will shortly after you use the 3pt for work.

I already have the fender off, still a little tight for an old man. :)

a few other spots you'll love: rear air cleaner nuts, replacing steering valve oil lines, lower radiator hose, inside/bottom nut on the injection pump, & clearing a clogged oil cooler drain after someone decided to dump a can of "stop leak" into the rad & was too lazy to flush out after it *worked.*
