willthe front ends interchange could i take the narrow front end of a early 4000 the hundred series looking sheetmetal an d put that front end axle on a 6000

I know the the narrow front pedestal from a 901 will fit the 1962 - 64 4000 row crop tractors. It will also fit the 1966- 75 4000 row crops and even the 5000 row crops.
Dunno about the 6000s though.

The FORD 6000 is entirely a different tractor. I really don't think it would work. I had a 6000 for awhile. I put a FEL on it, but the frame of the tractor would flex so much that the radiator shroud would hit the fan, so I removed the loader.

will it bolt up to the 6000 boltser the tie rods bolt to. thanks Hud
Both the 901s and 3 cyl models had a round turntable on the underside of the bolster.
On a NF the pedestal bolted directly to that turntable. On a WF there were tie rods that went from that turntable to the front wheels to steer.
If you were wanting to change a WF to a NF it would be very simple:
Remove the WF axle and tie rods and it's 4 bolts to bolt the NF pedestal to the turntable. Done.
But I don't know about the 6000s.
PS, there is a front and back side to those pedestals. The front side has a sharper "knife edge".

It's really hard for me to imagine those 1" thick frame rails flexing. I suspect more likely that some hardware was loose.

while i have every one going here how much differance i s there in the two selecto speeds early 4000 and the 6000

knew they wouldnt interchange but how many of the inturnales are the same discs shafts regulatoers and things
