Bleed fuel after filter change question MF 135

I am getting ready to change my fuel filters for the first time, and I see my primary pump has no manual pump on it.
The manual shows what looks like the same pump, but mine has no way to manually prime it.
If I have my wife sit by the key, and she turns the starter, will this have the same effect??

The Operators Manual has the details on how to bleed. Better have a strong, fully charged battery and don't crank more than 15 to 20 seconds at a time to prevent overheating the starter. I've never seen one without the manual lever.?.

Gravity bled, then loosened lower bolt on the injector pump and cranked for about 10 sec, then repeated with upper bolt, then loosened line going to injectors and cranked for 10-15 sec and it started, woo hoo!!

Now I get to do it all again, I dropped the filter when it came off and cracked the bowl, and must have the gasket in wrong, horrible leak spraying out hard after starting.

Very hard to get at the filter with the bowl, the hardware for the bucket is in the way.
