Review of string trimmer reviews

I find it a bit hard to believe that Ace gave away 385 trimmers in exchange for favorable reviews. That said, I don't think a $100 string trimmer is going to be very good. Heck, they're practically giving them away at that price anyway.
I agree but the manufacturer may have as 100 cheap trimmers is nothing as far as advertising budget goes. What they retail for $100 probably cost $10 or less to make. Could be MTD which is owned by Stanley Black and Decker, or if they were given away long ago could have been Elextrolux, Poulan or any of the many manufacturers who have built Craftsan trimmers over the years. Likely none of them very good.

I bought the newest STIHL battery homeowners model. The most frustrating pc of crap I have ever owned. Couldn't keep sting in it and the autoload feature never worked properly. I sold it at a loss on Craigs List. I now have a GreenWorks basic model, uses 80 volt battery, easy load works nice and the line hardly ever breaks off. Half the price of the STIHL.

I have two Stihl trimmers, both bottom end of the pro series, one with string and one with a metal blade. I did not even know a corded string trimmer was a thing anymore.
