Case Tractor (1967) 830 Comfort King ...8 speed .....18.4 X 34 rear Rims/Tires Removal ???

John Deere D

John Deere D
I have to remove a REAR RIM and Tire assembly for replacement.

As I have never removed one of the above Rims/Tires assembles, (on any Case Tractor) outside of the safety side,is the removal as straight forward as removing the NUTS and CLAMPS that are visible on the out side of the Rim to Hub assembly?
I Trust the CAST CENTER does not have to be removed?

When I removed he REAR Rims / Tires assembly from my W-9, visually, I could verify it was straight forward.
Thanks
Bob...

I am not familiar with the 830's rims. Are they double bevel like the 400? only wider? My 411 has 13.6x38 and I just use the impact to loosen and remove the clamps. I do for safety's sake chain my engine hoist to the tire and rim so it does not fall on me. gobble

I just located a posting by "Adirondack case guy"..posting July16,2016.,with picture posting "Busy tractor weekend" .
Thanks to tomturkey and anyone else with thoughts on my posting.

It is technically as simple as removing those clamps and popping it off, reality can be different on that particular type. Expect the rims to be stuck on the casting, sometime extremely stuck. I have one from a 1030 that had 23.1-30 tires that I wanted to make a burn ring from but the casting and rim are still sitting in the junk pile. Every so often ill go give things a whack with a mall hoping today is the day it pops loose, no luck so far.

Good morning.......
After spraying all Hardware holding RIM to the CAST CENTER piece with Kroil.......loosened off all NUTS....gave inside of Rims a TAP with a 5 LB hammer........RIM popped free.
Thanks for all comments and assistance.
