9N with F&T Overdrive

I'm restoring an early 9N with a F&T Overdrive. The Overdive needs a seal on the clutch input shaft. I've got the input housing off and need to press out the shaft.
There is a snap ring underneath the gear at the back. maybe a 1\16 " of room to get to ring. no holes in ends I can see. I know this is a odd overdrive but
can't find any info on it. I'll have to get the seal out to figure what size it is. Anybody ever fooled with one of these?? thanks ahead for any thoughts.

Hi SEArk,
Ive not had a F&T.
There must be a way to disassemble.
Sherman used Allen head set screws IIRC.
Pics?

I looked at some Sherman stuff and saw where someone talked about it. nothing here but a 3 3\8 snap ring under a 3 1/4 gear. Slept on it last nite
and decided I would drill some holes behind the ring to help pry out . got it about a 1\3 of the way up now but hitting teeth on gear. Probally need to break the ring
about 5 hours ago. have a donor tractor if i screw this trans.. can take it out . Thanks

I'm not familiar with that transmission but it seems like if the snap ring is holding the bearing in the housing the shaft would have been pressed into the bearing. It seems like you should be able to press the shaft out of the bearing. If you can't get the snap ring out it couldn't have been put in there with the shaft in the bearing.

Your right, I put in in the press first but chickened out when it didn't move. So went the hard way and removed the upper snap ring finally
got it out and pressed the shaft out. The bearing had another snap ring on the back side, not accessible either. Don't understand but
it lasted 70 or 80 years, guess they would argue with me. thanks for the comments. (seal been bad for long time, holds its own oil, will
get new oil now and be full.)
