Farmall 806 Diesel

I recently aqcuired a 1964 Farmall 806 Diesel. The gentleman I bought from had put fresh batteries on it in January. The last time I fired it up there were no issues. This was about 6 weeks ago or so. When I went to start it, there was nothing, not even a click. Put the charger on it, and still nothing. I feel like when I turn the key I should see the fuel guage activate or some indication? I am tempted to change the key switch and the starter button as the starter button was fussy about making good contact. The batteries are 2 6v in a series and are good and tight. Haven't taken them off to clean them. Would the key switch up and die like that? The tractor does sit outside. Is there a parking brake electronic shutoff? Any advice?

Make sure the neutral safety starting switch is working as it should; it is on the clutch linkage.

Clean both ends of the battery cables. Dig out your test light or voltmeter and check for power to and out of the switch and starter circuit. Costs less than guessing and throwing parts at it.

Did fuel gauge work before? Lights work? Most importantly does the engine, transmission light work. Should flash with key on and when running the light should flash every time you push the clutch pedal and stop flashing just before the tractor begins to move as you are releasing the clutch pedal with transmission in gear.
