cushion hitch

I pulled a tandem dual gooseneck many miles loaded to its max, and nevere noticed anything that would cause me to desire cushioning.

We have a dmi cushioned ag hitch on the bumper pull trailers but the goose neck hasn’t ever had anything helper bags are the only cushioning I’ve ever used on a gooseneck and it’s still the trailer I prefer.

We have one on our 4th wheel camper, I am not convinced that it helps very much, but I have had it on there from the start so hard to say. I do not have one on the gooseneck equipment trailer and I do not see much difference between the two trailers.

Chap at the driveline store where I ordered the goosneck kit for our old F250 told me (if I remember right) that they're good if you have a really light trailer on a truck with really stiff suspension. If your ball load and suspension stiffness was better matched, there was minimal effect.

I think I'm remembering that right... Makes sense in my head. I do know he said they're popular for single/dual horse trailers. But maybe that's because horse folks have no shortage of excess money to spend on bells/whistles.

Air ride hitch on a truck and trailer with spring ride axles.
Yep that makes perfect sense.
I actually miss the spring ride on my Wilson grain hopper I have to flip the lever every time we dump since it’s independent of truck bags and it’s underneath by the trap and it’s not visible from the cab like Timpte up front I’ve thought about moving the switch but Timpte it seemed like we replaced them more often at the coop.

It doesn’t ride much better in the cab over the rr tracks and the corn kernels haven’t been complaining. Waiting for the uncle or dad to forget and blow a bag at the ethanol plant.

The amount of times I get asked if the bags are up and they are I’m ready to trade it off on a commander with spring ride while the trailer is worth something.

I have a Cody Cushion (out of Greeley Colorado area and no longer being built unfortunately) and it made the biggest difference but in doing so it felt less stable. it goes into my b&w.

I have a shocker hitch on one of my goosenecks, it replaces the coupler.very happy with it. More rigid connection so not as well dampened as the Cody Cushion, but it's solid enough it feels more secure and controlled with bigger loads.

I also picked up a shocker hitch for my bumper pull receiver hitch, literally on the first trip with it today, and it helps a decent amount. I imagine why is because a dually chassis cab is the tow vehicle, so it doesn't exactly give much on bridges, this hitch definitely takes the sharpness off the bridge transitions.

So in conclusion, IDK if I'd pay retail for any of them, but I bought all of mine used and have been very happy.
