Caterpillar Paint Color

Need a touch-up can of Caterpillar Yellow for old machines. bought a can that advertised it is correct, but the color looks *far* too orange to me. Can anyone direct me to the right match? Google already came up with what I am convinced is the wrong color, so I don't trust it.

old cat yellow was more yellow now it's a creamy color

That's my impression, too, but getting a firm grip on exactly what shade of yellow--or coming close--is proving difficult.

Only luck I've had matching cat yellow into buy the actual cat yellow paint from cat.

Whelp, I looked, and all I could see from them is the new color. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

It looks like the CAT paint code for the 1/7/1931 to 6/1/1979 was 4C4185. It was called Highway Yellow. This site shows having it in Van Sickle.

I like Rust-Oleum "Old Cat yellow"

Years ago I painted a few old Cats, It seems to me that 'School Bus Yellow' was very close.

So I got a can of the Old Cat yellow from ASAP, and it still seems to be too orange. So I have got four cans of different paint, all not matching. Maybe I am trying to match faded paint too closely. Anyway, I will try one more option: there is a paint for touching up the (in)famous Tonka yellow Fords. Rustoleum makes a very close match. I will try that. If it doesn't work, I'll paint the thing fluorescent pink and solve the problem.
