1963 Ford 2000 cranks fine, goes dead

My 2000 gas tractor cranks fine, revs up good, runs for 1-2 minutes, then sputters and shuts off. New inline filter, carb is 3-4 years old , no more than 10-15 hours on carb, tractor not used much, sits in barn.

I forgot, this problem started AFTER I added gas.

Which 2000, 4 cylinder or 3 cylinder? (Edit: Sorry, I didn't otice the year in the title on my first read). Neither is supposed to have an in-line fuel filter. The 4 cylinder is gravity feed and the 3 cylinder originally had a mechanical fuel pump but that may have been bypassed at some point so that it's gravity feed now.

So it was running fine without gas?

It was running fine with an inline fuel filter which it has had for years, last time I added fuel the same thing happened and it was a clogged filter, so I replaced filter and it has worked fine until I added fuel recently, that's when the current problem began, I replaced filter and I still have the problem. I added fuel and it turned over, fired and ran for 10 seconds went dead, I verified that gas flow from the tank was insufficient.
I cleaned the shutoff valve on the bottom of the tank and cycled the valve on/off 2 times, after that now it cranks right up, runs for 2-5 minutes, then Seems to get fuel starved ( same sound as when I shut off the downstream shutoff) and go dead. Let it sit 5 minutes and same thing.
Sean I am going to take the new inline filter out and try that, as you suggested in my previous post about the tank.
Be patient with me guys, I ain't no mechanic, thanks for y'all's help.

Sounds like crud in the tank and it may be affecting the shutoff valve flow. Drain and clean the tank for starters and clean the inlet side of the tank valve.

Which specific in-line fuel filter did you install this time? Is it one designed for large tractors with gravity feed? There are many that look similar but are not correct for that type of application.
