Allis-Chalmers WD45 1953

Dad used to call those Allis mounted pickers a slipper, because they slid on so low on the tractor compared to other brands.
 
Did the ears go under the axle to get to the elevator, sure must have gotten crowded under there if that was the case. Not a mud machine then. But I suppose 40 inch rows at 18,000 or less not a bunch of trash.

Under the axel because they did not have a deicated rear husking bed. Instead the made the snapping rollers longer with husking on rear portion of the snapping rolls. Because of this they tended to pick dirter.
