JD 3020 PTO Rear main seal replace.

I have to replace rear pto seal on my 3020. Which is best, to leave stub shaft in or have it removed before removing the housing holding the seal.

I think one needs to remove pto shaft prior to removing guide from seal & bearing due to one should replace o-ring in guide that seals pto shaft. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/8094/referrer/navigation/pgId/2173519

Leave it in until you have it on the bench. A gear and wavy washer will come also. Check the outer snap ring when you take the stub out as they can get thin.
