MF-65 leaking Hydraulic oil from clutch casing.

Greetings all. it's been a while since my last post.
I have an MF-65 that I believe to be a 1974. The unit has always had a "small" hydraulic leak from the drain hole under the transmission / clutch casing, since I purchased it about 3 years ago. I do not use the PTO, etc. on back of tractor, only a loader on the front. All has been acceptable up until recently. First, I developed a leak on the cylinder that controls the "tilt" of the bucket. I tried using a "leak-stop" added to the Hydraulic fluid, to stop that leak. Has not worked, yet. But I have developed a problem, I now have heavy leakage of fluid from the "Clutch" case. Topped it up 2 times, took almost 4 gallons today! What am I dealing with? I drought that the internal pumping system is at fault as the loader still works as it should. It is almost like the fluid is under pressure coming out of every possible location in the clutch case. Would this be seals on the shafts coming forward out of the transmission into the clutch case? If yes, then I'm into splitting the tractor to install new seals. If not, then what? I've split tractors before but would rather not until I'm positive that it's just the seals. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If it has Multi-Power try operating in the low position. I expect it is leaking at the Multi-Power sealing rings when in high. Check a U-Tube video on the repair, it's more involved than you would expect. If it's the transmission seal that pretty easy.

The tilt ram is likely to be either a bent rod or chrome damage. Both should be checked before re-sealing as new seals will be damaged straight away by damaged chrome and you'll never seal a bent rod.
With the transmission, are you sure you haven't overfilled it? It takes a while for the oil to flow through the bearings between the transmission where you fill it to the dipstick in the centre housing. Multi powers can be nuisance when they leak, not all the parts are available. If it's throwing out everywhere that suggests it's leaking from the shaft seals then getting thrown round by the clutch.

Thank you to all for your suggestions. Correction ..Yes it is a 1964 not a 74. If "Multi-Power" means "HIgh / Low", yes it has multi-power. No it is not over filled. I will try Low and see what happens. I'll also check the "rubber/springs". Thanks again, will let you know the results.

You will have a gear transmission (1-3 plus R or 1-4 plus R) and a gear Lo-start-Hi to the right of the gear shift. Multi-power is a small lever in the dash area.

Do you have an Operator's Manual for your MF 65? If you don't here is a link to one at Manualslib.com you can download and save. I don't see that you have ever told if your 65 is gas or diesel. This manual is for a diesel but other than the engine info the rest of the info should be ok for a gas engine tractor. It describes the transmissions.

The 65 never had a 4 x 2 transmission.

When my 1963 MF 35 NO MULTI-POWER transmission.... 3 speed.... with H/L selector had the symptoms as your 65......
Replaced seals and Bearings as per required......

There's more than JUST ONE model of this 3 speed.... with H/L selector Transmission.

On some of these Transmissions, the Input Shaft Drive Bearings ,input Drive shafts and Oil Seals can be replaced by JUST separating the Transmission from the Engine, moving the attaching hardware....Cap Screws.

On some of these Transmissions the ENTIRE Transmission has to be disconnected from both the engine as well as the Differential Housing......

THAT'S the case with
my "1963 3 speed.... with H/L selector Transmission",and no "Multi-power."

A PTO power transmitting shaft has to be removed AFT,to allow removal of the INPUT shafts ,OIL SEAL,etc, etc.

My original MF service manual states, the procedure for dismantling is the same for several Transmissions including the MF 65.

The correct TOOLS are a must for removing all of the CIRCLIPS ...........&^^$#%^&

All the best with this adventure...........:)
