I replaced the pto clutch plates on my 720 and adjusted them as directed before reassembling. and filled the housing with regular 10 wt oil. With the tractor running and the clutch disengaged, I could not get it to stop no matter how much I pushed on the foot pedal. After I turned off the tractor, I checked the adjustment rod with the foot pedal in the locked position and it was showing one land with one groove and 1/2 land. With the foot pedal not locked in, I was showing one land, one groove and one full land.
Now engaging the clutch I show land, groove, land, groove, land. Three lands and two grooves. Do I have to do any adjustment?
How do I get the clutch to stop turning when I have it disengaged?
What type of oil should I use? The 10 wt was just ordinary car oil.
