Ford NAA New-To-Me, Have Questions

I have two sets of pie weights. One has been in use for many years on a 901. I don't think that you can fully judge how quickly and easily adjustments are made until you have used them. I never adjust mine. You may be the first ever to do it. Three point lift weights have always been far more popular, probably for the many reasons given here. Good luck with your experimentation.
First I need to find a set for sale.
Closest found is an incomplete set for way too much money.
All five sets advertised on YT have sold.
Will put a wanted ad in the classifieds.

I've watched a few videos showing them being installed on loop rims (what is on this tractor). Seems pretty reasonable to me.
You are totally right that i have no first hand experience... yet.
Will report back when I actually have some.
Hopefully soon.

It will work till the belt wares some, then you will start to have low battery issues. I pointed this out cuzz you said you were the read deal. If I had to work around a loader I would want it right the first time.

Is a 5L belt incorrect for the NAA?

Here is how the belt sits on the pulley with significant pressure against it.
This is about as right as it gets.
Would take a serious amount of wear before the belt would drop the 8mm or so to the bottom of the pulley.
Will look forward to see your setup. 👍

Years ago I talked to TISCO about this pulley issue as they and everyone else was using the wrong pulley for this application. They came out with the number I posted. Up until now the dead give away for the wrong pulley was it was not anodized black. I opened up 3 box's of new pulleys they were all plated gold, so they must have got away from black. Keep a eye on it the give away if the charging voltage will drop to the mid 13.5 range and you can spin the alt fan with a finger. Your useless amp meter will be just happy telling you noting useful.

Looks like correct pulleys come in clear finish now too. The pulley on this alternator is most definitely correct for the application.
I wondered why you thought this pulley was wrong. Thanks for the explanation. 👍

Ammeters are only useless for people who don't know how to use them. I grew up in that era, and have no issue. My preference is a volt meter. But an ammeter can get the job done.

When it comes to diagnostic a voltmeter is the first thing you grab of course that's for folks that are not incline to base their diagnostics on my best guess.

i definitely agee that diagnostics should not be done based on "your best guess."
You make too many assumptions.

You have a diagnostic meter that only reads voltage?
Might want to get a more capable meter to do diagnostics with, and take a basic electrical theory class.
Voltage isn't always the first check.

sheath, I no longer have my NAA. I did have a copy of the owners manual and the I&T FO-19 manual for it. I found them quite helpful.
In my opinion I would opt for loaded tires. They don't use calcium chloride anymore. Talk to a tire shop that does heavy duty stuff and see what's available.
I won't get into the ammeter vs volt meter debate. I do know that on my old '73 Jeep J4000 I use for snow plowing, I added a volt meter to it. Now that ammeter was useless.
