For the guys that owned them, how good were they?? Never saw many here,
Have never owned one but they are held in high regard by the redpower community.Except for the hydro,the transmissions were very similar to Deere's quadrange.Just my opinion but if International had built that tractor when Deere's 30 series came out in 1973,would have given Deere a run for the money... for awhile anyway.When the 50 series Internationals came out Deere already had the 15 speed PS in addition to the quadrange.

I didn’t own it but spent many hours in a 5088 for a few summers an always enjoyed operating it.
Was slightly underpowered in tge heat of the day plowing but after the sun went down she came to life
Iirc the only issue we ever had with it was the injection pump once

The shop accidentally sent us a 5488 pump back
Man she ran really good then
But we got the correct one an put back on it
