Not sure??? It was in the book so I used it from tractor parts store.

The green mesh stuff is to keep bees, hornets and wasps from nesting in there.
Apparently, back in the day, farmers complained to Ford about that happening when they checked the coolant.
That was Ford's solution.

I have this problem, and added the green mesh when I replaced my radiator last winter. I still check carefully before opening the battery/fuel cover!
