Industrial 30 has never failed to start and run. Mowing the field it died as if the fuel shutoff was pulled. Basic checks revealed nothing. Pulled it to my shop after quick pressure wash it was time to check further.
Had 10 gallons of fuel. No water in filter.
Removed fuel line to injector pump no fuel
Removed line to primary filter no fuel
FIX: drained tank Removed shutoff.
Shut screen plugged with slime
Using a large shop towel cleaned inside of fuel tank using a fiberglass tent pole to bend into corners. Removed towel with stiff bent wire. Finished wipe down with damp gas cloth. Sure saved time not removing tank.
Cleaned shutoff screen with parts cleaner and compressed air. Used a hardening bolt thread compound on pipe threads to install.
Using a automotive fuel pump with screen, filter diesel and refilled tank.
Still need new primary filter and considering new mechanical fuel pump swap. But started after injector air was bleed out of the system.

Good job getting it running! You need to treat your fuel supply with a diesel biocide to kill that black scum or it will come back, the sooner the better. If you have a large tank treat it now and again in a few months, also treat the tank on the tractor for the first couple of fill-ups. That stuff is nasty! Search diesel biocide for availability, mine came off of Amazon.

Take the tap filter out and throw it away. Get a bit of plastic pipe and push it into the hole where the filter was, cut it off about 3/4" up. Now there's no filter to block and the dregs in the bottom of the tank won't get through. Anything which does go through will get to the main filters which are much easier to change.
Don't store fuel in steel tanks/cans, the bio-bug needs water which it gets from condensation. Plastic tanks are less prone to this.

I use the Clear Diesel fuel treatment with every fill on my Massey. Had to pull the tank to clean out 1/2 inch buildup of asphaltene in the bottom of the entire tank a couple years ago, and it has worked pretty well to keep the tank and fuel system clean since.
