71 Ford 3000 diesel replacement filter housing fittings leak

I bought 2 of these thinking I got a bad one the first time but they both leak. Problem is the tube nut bottoms out against housing before seating the flare. This happens with both steel and plastic lines I made. The original seems ok with the same lines pictured. Do they make longer tube nuts? Depth is about 5/8” on the leaky ones. Original is on tractor now can’t measure.

It may be the picture, but I don't see a tapered seat in the hole for the fitting. Are you sure that housing is not intended to use rubber type compression "olives" to seal the fuel lines? Look in the holes at see if the seat areas are the same.

Here are some close up shots. Is the olive a ferrule.

The olive is not a brass ferrule. It is a rubber "bushing" that fits in the hole and around the tube (tube is straight end, no flare) the nut has a flat face and compresses the rubber olive to hold the tube tight.

Neighbor bought one of those, the seat for the brass olive is deeper than the originals and the nut bottomed out before the olive compressed tight against the seat
We repaired the threads on his old one and sent the new one back

Your best bit is to reuse your old one or fit a used one, that aftermarket base will work with the newer lines that have brass adapters screwed into the base with rubber olives and nuts but not with the older lines you and I have
