i have a b82051 that has a crank that is realy bad would have to be welded i have a b 212731 that is going to scrap unless i can use the rods and crank in the hand start early b any know the differances. thanks Hudco

Although I don’t have each to examine side by side I expect the late B crank will not work in your early styled B because of differences in the clutch. The early B clutch pulley is narrower and I'm guessing the crank is a little bit shorter.

B&D,
I have no dog in this fight, but would you be so kind as to explain that? What exactly IS a stroker, and how does it matter.
Just hoping to learn something. Unfamiliar terms to me...

Thanks, Fr. Bob

It will not fit had to help someone last year put the old crank back in we tried the reverse new to older styled but I kept the crank on a pallet that didn’t fit. Which casting number did you need?

The clutch mechanism is different as well that’s laying on the pallet next to it since this one was tighter he was going to try to use it but it didn’t fit and wouldn’t work till we switched it back

B1308r is what appears to be cast into this one

its about .040 oval shaped on the rod jounals it was ran with a broken oil line going to the govenor and ruined it thats re done now the crank needs done to finish it

dont know that it is all buttoned up and out back in the bone yard iwill guess by the sn crank would be ab592r nicetractor all new rubber on spokes good origanal paint no dents the owner died about five years ago

Ok sir there are basically 3 cranks for the B unstyled early, mid production 1941-1947 and late 1948-1952. They will not easily interchange, (unless you are building a custom stroker modified machine) Try to find one with the same casting number as yours. As old as they are you may need to have it ground but still cheaper than welding one up. Al so the first two mentioned ones take babbitt rods and shims The last takes inserts. You may need to have the rod journals done too. There are some exceptions.
