I use one of them occasionally on my fuel delivering. It opens various types of fill caps. Usually underground tanks. We refer to them as a "star wrench ".

It's a handy bung wrench. It's used to remove and replace various bungs and plugs in tanks and drums. Don't throw it away. You'll need one some day.

Star wrench; a bung wrench is normally made from bronze (non-sparking) and has a handle approx a foot long. It's normally used to remove/tighten bungs in steel drums. Today some are made from aluminum, but don't last long for obvious reasons.
