Steering wheel for 6000 Ford?

Good morning, does anyone have an idea where I can find a good steering wheel for a 6000. Have a few parts missing from mine or what might work to fiix. Once I thought I heard of someone using body paddy? Thoughts ideas and suggestions always appreciated

I recommend contacting the salvage yard to see if they still have it and what shape it is in.

That might fit a 6000, but it won't be a 6000 style.

It'll be darn near impossible to find one that isn't cracked. I sent mine out to a guy who restores steering wheels for a living. It wasn't cheap, but it looks great.

I bought several for lower HP Fords on ebay...first class, reasonably priced.

I went through that on a 4200.
Originally they used a small diameter, deep dished steering wheel.
I bought a new steering wheel for a Massey Ferguson which was nearly identical in size and dish. I saved the splined hub from the old wheel and machined it smaller in diameter. I didn't have a milling machine then so had a friend bore out the hub in the new wheel and we pressed the old hub into it and used a dutch keyway to secure it.
When completed you could not tell we had done it except...
The center cap for the new wheel had a MF logo on it which I could have done something about but never did.
If you are near the Twin Cities I could do that job for you.

The ebay offerings cover manual steering large diameter, PS small diameter, and small diameter deep dish.

That might fit a 6000, but it won't be a 6000 style.

That's the part number listed on the parts site for a 6000 steering wheel.

The OEM number C0NN-3600-A. What has been changed to mulitple times ??? Finding original 2 spoke may fun in good condition.

If that's the correct original part number then the parts site is getting even worse. The description for that part number is "Steering wheel nut". And searching for that part number on tractor-part.com returns descriptions calling it a nut as well.

That part number came from a 1963 parts book I have for 6000.

tractor-part.com claims that two salvage yards have one in stock under part number C0NN-3600-A, but the description for them is steering nut, but maybe that's just because that's what it says on the parts site. It wouldn't hurt to call them and see:

The nut number 356130-S8. 11/16-20 witch is nut used on just about every steering shaft.
