That might fit a 6000, but it won't be a 6000 style.tractor-part.com says that Cook Tractor, a salvage yard in Missouri, has one in stock:
I recommend contacting the salvage yard to see if they still have it and what shape it is in.
It'll be darn near impossible to find one that isn't cracked. I sent mine out to a guy who restores steering wheels for a living. It wasn't cheap, but it looks great.Good morning, does anyone have an idea where I can find a good steering wheel for a 6000. Have a few parts missing from mine or what might work to fiix. Once I thought I heard of someone using body paddy? Thoughts ideas and suggestions always appreciated
I bought several for lower HP Fords on ebay...first class, reasonably priced.Good morning, does anyone have an idea where I can find a good steering wheel for a 6000. The ebay offerings cover manual steering large diameter, PS small diameter, and small diameter deep dish.I went through that on a 4200.
Originally they used a small diameter, deep dished steering wheel.
I bought a new steering wheel for a Massey Ferguson which was nearly identical in size and dish. I saved the splined hub from the old wheel and machined it smaller in diameter. I didn't have a milling machine then so had a friend bore out the hub in the new wheel and we pressed the old hub into it and used a dutch keyway to secure it.
When completed you could not tell we had done it except...
The center cap for the new wheel had a MF logo on it which I could have done something about but never did.
If you are near the Twin Cities I could do that job for you.
That's the part number listed on the parts site for a 6000 steering wheel. That might fit a 6000, but it won't be a 6000 style.
