Oliver 60 Radiator without buying an OEM

Has anyone tried to mock up a cheaper option than going in for a $1000-1700 radiator for a 1949 Oliver 60 row crop? I have considered making a box to hold the replacement and support the hood etc. Has anyone gone down that path and would they like to share? What did it cost you?

don't know why but a fan blade ripped into mine, had it rebuilt for $450 and he did an excellent job. He was older and has since died, we aren't producing people to replace these craftsman.

In my area rad shops that will recore a rad are now non existent. At least I dont know of any. There are several companys that will make you a custom aluminum rad, but pretty pricey like you say. I havent done one for a 60, but for my 88 puller I bought a aluminum one off amazon that was supposed to fit smaller 50 series Olivers and I modified it to work. If you are handy I see no reason why you couldnt take a generic rad that has the inlet and outlets and the fill cap in the right places and roughly the right size and make it work, but May be harder to find something close enough than finding a good 60 rad? Maybe put a wanted ad on marketplace or sites like that?
