Ford 641 - Water temp probe rusted off in the head

Anyone have any slick ideas to remove the actual probe portion? The threaded part of the probe unscrews just fine.

This is a mechanical gauge with a capillary tube and a bulb in the engine, correct? Are you trying to save it?

being that they are usually soft copper, I would try to metal screw or a tap to snag it,, if not bend it over and out of the way into the coolant chamber so a new one can now fit.

I have done it with an appropriate sized screwdriver. Just drive the screwdriver into it, then push to one side.

No. I'm trying to replace it.

Cut the tube off and use a large screw in it or a screwdriver as suggested.
