i have a 1952 tea 20 or T 20... .This is my carb. Zenith?? British?
are these good carbs?.Reason i ask is when i got the tractor a month ago,it idled through the woods like a clock,Niw it seems to sputter,or just not run smooth on low idle,1 pit a bit of seafoam in it.It will sit on low idle,,and work good. But not driving thrpugh the woods.
Should i thinker with the set screws? i added a bit of seafoam in the tank.

Very good carburettors , easy to rebuild if necessary, plenty of parts available. Don't be too quick to blame the carb , there is a hidden fuel strainer in the tank two in a TED variant . They are small and fitted to the fuel inlet of the filter bowl . Remove the tap , throw the filters away , if they're there ( often they just fall apart ) . Clean out the tap carefully , the filter bowl and bronze mesh as well .

I own a TEA-20 that has been on my property since new.

Last week the Engine started to "HUNT " badly...........it was not the Carb.

The high Tension lead from the coil to the Distributor was "FAULTY". Moisture had caused the lead to burn off in the COIL

Have you removed the Distributor Cap,then Shine / Removed any buildup on the 4 metal pickup points, as well as the metal portion of the Rotor Arm?

The Rotor directs voltage to each respectful Spark plug,.

As high Voltage passes from the Rotor Arm to each individual spark plug contact, high voltage, causes a transformation of material to build up, on the four contact point as well as the Rotor Arm.

Have you checked / set the Spark plug electrode gaps, as per service manual specifications,as well as the breaker points inside the distributor?

No. I assumed the guy I bought it from did that. It worked great when I bought it.
It runs good at hi seed, but low idle through the woods it's up and down idleing seems like. I'll. Check points. Thanks
