In search of short frame unstyled B hood

I just joined the forms I’m looking for a 1936 John Deere B unstyled short frame hood. This tractor has been in my family since new and I want to restore it to its former glory. I read all the old posts with people who make new hoods but all them are from years ago and the numbers are discounted or no answer. Does anyone know of someone who makes a reproduction hood or even a used hood if it’s close enough. I’m in northeast Wisconsin. My grandfather took a torch to the original hood to pull a dent out, warped the metal and then continued to beat it with a hammer, it’s beyond repair.

I bought a couple of them from Detwiler's in Wisconsin although it's been a few years ago. I'm not sure if they're still around these were reproduction hoods and I was very happy with them. I might have one here that was damaged when a pole building came down on it, the hood was dented and insurance paid for a new one. If I get time today I'll try and find it I don't remember how bad it was but I will check.

Call A & L Parts Penn Yan, NY. 315-536-0543 M-F. He parts out JD 2 cylinder tractors including the model B.

I called Detwiler’s multiple times there are a couple different numbers for them and they just ring and ring. Theres is a post saying they sold the business a few years ago on a different form. I’ll give A&L a call Monday morning. Thanks for the quick reply’s.

Have you tried this number for Detwilers?

715-659-4252.

I bought some repo B hoods from them just a couple of weeks ago. I called the number I listed and they picked right up.

I gave Deteilers another call and they are still in business. He said I should receive the hood tomorrow in the mail. Thank you all for the help.
