Literature---1947 J I CASE Booklet on Strip Farming

Today I am showing one of a few Booklets I have that J I CASE printed in the 1940's-50's as a public service for Farmers to show Modern Farming Practice and to show off their Equipment
They also made Flim Strips and Moives Like the movie that LarFure Posted and gave a link to is past week in the Case & David Brown Forum section
I always like looked at these old brochure to see what the equipment looked like that they used way back then

There's a farm near here that was always stripped and contoured like that. He was named conservation farmer of the year by about every organization that could give an award, The farm was featured in Michigan Farmer one year. He used to host the FFA soil judging contest for every chapter in the county every year. The farm is still being farmed by the same family, but not near as many strips as before. I just don't know that all those little fields work well with larger equipment. It was fine for a WD Allis, but the big new stuff hangs off the edges a bit.

I like looking at the old stuff like that. I have a box of old magazines I bought at an auction one time that I love to go through from time to time. One of the interesting things in them is an add for refrigerators, they sold in the 40s for the same price as a basic fridge today. Of course $400 was a lot more money to come up with then, but it was an interesting thing for me to see.
