Center ramp for jd 50

I bought a narrow front John Deere 50. I’m looking for recommendations on a center ramp. Would a 2x12 be sufficient to load the tractor? The brakes aren’t the best and I’m not comfortable going with the angled two ramp approach. The trailer is dovetailed so it wouldn’t be a steep angle

If it is a car trailer and low to the ground you may not even need a center ramp. Pull up slow to the back of the trailer and let the front end walk up it. I've loaded a Farmall H many times on my friends car trailer this way.

I used to regularly haul hay balers.

The center ramp is 3" channel, skinned with 1/8" diamond plate. It will take anything you can throw at it. Hauled in my little IH tricycle tractor with it.

I don't like lowboy trailers.........wouldn't own one..........so, for a deckover, the third ramp is golden. I built the trailer, the ramps, and modified the circa 1920's winch to work with it. You will find that winching something on is safer than trying to drive it on.

Be proactive, think outside the box...................and if possible............observe commercially available stuff...........and copy it.
