I noticed today a grease fitting on the water pump housing on my 52 tea 20.
I am going to pump a little grease into it. I have no idea if it was grease before I bought it ir not. Can I use white grease like marine grease?

Also. I want to put a decent alternator on it. I'll have e to make a bracker,,,,for any alternater hits the tie rod when going over hills on one side. Its on the old generator bracket. Disnt seen to go up high enough to not hit the rod.

For an alternator you will have to source a pulley that accepts a belt as wide as the original . Otherwise a thinner replacement belt will always slip.
Frankly a dynamo/generator in good condition is more than sufficient for a Ferguson.
New water pumps dont have grease nipples , originals do . White grease is fine for the application. If the pump is leaking or the bearing noisy these originals can be rebuilt fairly easily unless the impeller is corroded .

As above! Note, if unwilling or unable to rebuild your Gen, a general use Lucas style gen will fit easier than a 1970 ish Gm alt. , and even look better. Only need 15 amps.
Yes im going to fabricate a mount, and buy a small alternater.
As for the water pump. It don't leak, but was just wondering about how much grease it holds?,abd few pumps? Thank for the info.

Give it a pump ea 50 hrs or so. If and when you rebuild, measure where the impeller is vs the seal and case. Not hard with 2 sockets and a modest press. Orig better metal than Asian replacements. Cool part numbers cast in too.
