Glad the hydros are good!
Lots of folks have left those bendix parts where they fell, and have not had a problem. However, if they get under the flywheel ring gear teeth, it can crack or bust the housing.
A tip was posted the other day to stick a strong magnet on the flywheel, then slowly turn the flywheel ( spark plugs out) hoping to attract the busted parts, then reach through the starter hole to fetch em out. Seemed like a great idea, but haven't tried it
