4010 John Deere wont stay in high side gears

I have a 4010 John Deere that wont stay in any of the high range gears sometimes it jumps out immediately sometimes you have to drive a short distance. This started happening after the top shaft was rebuilt. The top shaft was all to pieces. I rebuilt the top shaft the only parts reused were the gears and the shaft. I updated the detent's and got all the slop out of the shift linkage and shifter. The high low shift fork was replaced with a good used one. I have rebuilt several of these over the years with success but I cannot figure out why this one is coming out of gear. Low and reverse are fine. Shaft end play is normal. It does not violently come out of gear just drops down. The shifter cam does not look bad but that was the only thought I had left. Thank you for any ideas.

I expect it may not be going all the way in gear, just a guess. Try the John Deere board on This site all the smart JD guys hangout there.

Two thoughts; spring on detent- broke and while in there, check alignment when in one of the high gears, look in plug hole, are things lined up? If need, adjust rod length at the top shift quadrant. Gear not sliding all the way to mesh its mating gear fully? Not all the way in gear? And does the shifter cam shaft have too much end play? Loosen outside arm and slide on tighter so cam detent falls in tight.
