After a slow start things are looking pretty good again this year. We are getting rain, but just enough, we are just on the edge of dry here. I saw a report that we are 10" short for the year. But the corn looks good. This first stuff planted is a bit uneven but still looks good. It was so cold it took 4 weeks to come up then grew slow for a few weeks more, but now is growing well.
The home corn was planted about 10 days later and is as big and much more even.
The last corn planted was 2 weeks later still and is only a little behind.
Grain barley is headed out a d thick and nice, going to be a good crop.
The hay barley is not as good as everything else, but is starting to head out and is improving
I didnt take a pic of second crop alfalfa hay, but it is coming along well too. Too bad hay is not worth much here again. Im going to have some to sell this year. Should do well on the barley as straw sells pretty well here. Over all its looking like another good crop year this year.
