3020 starter drive gear shattered

I have a power shift 3020 diesel, maybe that's redundant. The drive gear broke, there is one piece maybe 25% of the total that got caught and was accessible from the small 2x3 inspection plate high on the right side, the rest of the gear is missing.

It seems that 3020 at least some have larger inspection plate access at the bottom of the flywheel housing but mine does not. The only way I see to retrive the gear pieces is to split the tractor which might be beyond my skill set. Am I possibly missing something and/or do I dare start and use it with the looses pieces inside.

Thanks

Hello rewtal57, welcome to YT! That is not a redundant statement because it tells us you have a Powershift(PS) transmission as opposed to the other option which is a Syncrhorange(SR) transmission. The SR transmission would have a larger clutch inspection plate than a PS would have because it utilizes a conventional dry clutch, as opposed to the PS which the clutch (inching pedal) just dumps apply pressure from a clutch pack. I’m not sure how much room the bell housing or clearance by the flywheel and starter ring gear there is for a foreign object to lay in there and not interfere with anything. Others may have a better answer.
