Has Anyone Posted this? (1030 504 swap)

I'm not the least bit impressed. Good way to tear up a 1030 chassis. No way the 1030 radiator will keep the engine cool when really needed. He ran hyd's to the steering from the dual pump, but what is the front crank driven pump for?

John, I, looked at that also, I believe what we are seeing is a valve hooked to the steering wheel shaft that directs oil to the cylinders, if you look the valve is sitting at an angle that does not match the crank centerline. While I applaud the thought and workmanship of the project, I agree on the longevity of the project, I have many years with those rears and have seen more than I care of the spider pinion shafts worn through the differential carrier. Case knew they had a problem and went to bronze shafts for the spider gear pinion shafts. Most of the units that I had redone had on the order of 7-8000 Hrs. All of those units had stock engines also, no 504s or turboed engines. They were a good transmission but reaching the end of their ability to handle big HP. Pullers are using them in very hot classes, but strength and wear are different items.

Well it might get tore up, but it looks like he knows how to work on it and might add that he made a lot of improvements on it case should have done. Our 1030 would not steer unless you were moving and no way was it as snappy as that one, he did a good job on that tractor.
