Battery Door Finger Nut

Hi,

Where do I find this part on Yesterdaystractors.com?

Thanks!

I think this is the right part for the original middle thing but I don't know why my middle thing is so far away from the end and doesn't latch under the hood body. Not sure this replacement will be long enough to do that.

Can someone take a picture of the underside of theirs and tell me if it is long enough to reach under the right side of the hood body or if there is some kind of extension under the right side of the hood body that it grabs....or a short video would be awesome.

Thanks!

Looking at your photo, it looks like there is a larger than normal gap between the gas tank lid and the hood. Probably from the tractor running into something in the past and distorting the sheet metal. A new OEM part won't reach under the lip any better than your old one. Maybe you could fabricate a longer tongue for the original latch.

OK, yes thank you, I can easily fabricate something that will work now that I know that it's not normal.

I bought the latch kit from this site a couple years ago. Backyard manufacturer used an inferior threaded bolt to weld onto the knob but I was able to use an undersized nut and tighten it up sufficiently.
