Being stranded and walking home...scooter in the trunk?

The beauty of a stick shift is that if there is any kind of a grade you can start it without a starter or any help. On level ground a friend or two can give you a push start or if a car is there and you have a chain or tow rope you can pull start it. :)
The starter in Our ‘66 Bug died during my kid years. We drove everywhere parking on a hill or where we kids could push it. I guess replacing a starter in an old VW was only for millionaires because I recall going for quite a while like that.

forgot your phone ?????😲😲😲 What???? how were you able to breathe knowing you couldn't take pictures of your
food if you had something to eat ??? Oh... Land of Goshen !!! What did you do with your empty right hand all that time ??? It's horrific !!! I Just... well I just never ...😨... I bet you were really scared...

Most of the time mine is sitting on the bakers rack in the kitchen with half a charge. I remember it when wife tells me to take my phone when I leave.
Carrying one of those things is as foreign to me as smoking. Just a habit that neither of us ever picked up. We live in the real world. I've gotta tell you, it's getting pretty lonely in this world. Not many people here anymore.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation remember to wear a cap with sun visor. Headlights, from a mile away, wipes out your night vision. Otherwise you can see pretty well.

I used to take tractors from my house to the farm and then walk the 4 miles home, at 75 not so much anymore. A couple years ago I came out of my credit union and a guy had a no start with a GM car. He was trying to hit the starter with a small hammer. I got a real hammer out of my truck and said "try this" it started right up, 30 oz ball peen.

Just the rentals

It only the real world in your mind, you just got left behind 😁.

To the scooters, my grandsons cheap Razor will carry my 235 lbs nnalert at least 11 miles.
In this case, it's OK to get left behind. I'm right where I want to be. It's eutopia.

Resisting change and technology is rarely brave or heroic (y)
Not resisting change at all. My first cell phone was a bag phone. We have a home phone, flip phone and smart phone. We just never got addicted. They're a tool to be used for a purpose. There's no need to be addicted, and that's exactly what some people are, addicted. I'm more concerned about having my jack knife in my pocket. I actually NEED that.

They're a great tool and I actuallyneed mine for qork daily, I fought a smart phone in 2007 at work, until I answered a bunch of emails 2 hrs from the office, no need to go back. Mine is always with me, I sit in my truck on the pier and write reports and all kinds of other things with it.

99% on here is my phone (y)

My only phone is a cell phone.I don't have a smarter than I am phone though.I had to get a cell when I hauled some mail in the 90's.It was part of the list of requirements.CDL,medical card, acceptable driving record, and a cell phone. The phone had to be approved too, some of the carriers back then had spotty coverage.Started out with some carrier that turned out to be AT&T,that carrier was acceptable, and a few years later went to Nextel. That was good here until Sprint bought them, and their service went down the tubes.Went to Verizon, and that has worked the best for me.This phone doesn't text either.

That explains the misspelled words. :) That's what happens to me when I use a touch screen phone. I much prefer the computer keyboard and rarely use the cell to send emails or to respond on forums. I still make typos; just not as many. 🤣

Police Frisking? If you had a scooter, they would probably say you stole it. Did they even offer you a ride?
Here E bikes and scooters have to be insured, registered and tagged just like any other vehicle if ridden on the road.

I have saw to many of them that decided to up and just burst into flames that I would never trust carrying one in the trunk of a car.

I have 2 lines with different carriers, coverage is still questionable in some areas.

May I ask where you are located?

Lot more than I bargained for just for a ride home once every five years... maybe. Think I'll settle for a folding bike, roller skates or marriage.:)
