Proud owner of a Case 830 CK DOM

Just acquired this Case 830 from a local auction. My dad used to have an 830 when I was younger but I think it had the clam shell fenders. There were several Case tractors on this auction from a VAC-14 up to a 2470. The prices were like a roller coaster the VAC went for $550, 741 went for $850. A few that were fully restored from a family's estate collection went from a '67 830 $10,500, '66 1030 $7600, '67 930 $6600. This line of Cases all came from another family estate with several 830's including the one I bought. 830 Dual Range gas $1500, 830 gas CK (mine) $4000, 930 DOM $3900, 2 830 COM's $1250 and $3200 respectively, an Agri-King 1070 went for $4000, Agri-King 1270 $7700, 2470 $9200. Another '66 Case CK 830 went for $3100. I'm excited and nervous to have my 830, it' will get used and hoping it's in good running condition.

You did alright, if the motor was taken as good of care as the body, it was worth the money. I'm always interested in these auctions and glad I wasn't there because I would have come home with one or two, can't resist.

Really sharp lookin ol'e gal!! Don't forget she's 60 years old and the grill screens are straight!! CASE jumped ahead light years when they introduced the Comfort kings. Much improved platform, PTO, Remote Hydraulics, Larger Volume Hyd. Pump, and Industry Standard Cat. 2 3pt.

Funny John, when I get up on the deck I feel like I have to squeeze to get up on the tractor. Can those fenders be extended out? It looks like they could but then that would mean I'd have to adjust the decking for the clutch/brake pedals and hydro levers. Am I right in that assessment?
I should've done a deeper dive into the tractors than I did. There was an 830 in the list ahead of this one that was closer to what my dad had when I was a kid, a Dual Range. I have to get used to putting this tractor in S to start. It runs good sitting still but when I start driving it coughs, spits and sputters when running for a bit. The gas tank needs some cleaning as there's some debris getting into the bulb. I took the gas line and carb off last night to clean then out. So the next step is to clean out the gas tank, I put on 6 gallons of fresh premium gas (I know these old textures didn't like that corn fed gas). There are two on the hydro lines leaking so I might need to plug those until I get new lines or seals installed. Right now is I can get the running issues taken care of I'll be using the 3 point mostly. I'll also be doing an oil change and antifreeze change just for my peace of mind. The gauges seen to work other than the odometer which reads 0504.5.
I need to find manuals for the 830 CJ since I'm not familiar with them as much as the SC/DC series.
It's going to be an adventure for sure but once I get this figured out it'll be a great tractor to use. Hoping to have it running at peak for a tractor show in a couple weeks.

930 CK and 1030 CK have wider more comfortable operator platforms compared to 730 CK and 830 CKs.

Nice looking tractor, must have been well care for.

It came from an estate who the owner of sadly passed away. He had several 830s 1070 1270 2470 all were in very shape.

Thanks for that but of info TG. I'll make sure to do that when I start disassembly on the gas tank. What lube is best to use, lithium grease, oil, WD-40, graphite?

Never heard it done, but you'd shim the fenders away from the platform, keeping the tires in mind.

Yes, I see that it wouldn't really be possible unless as you stated to shim the fenders. I could really go nuclear and make a whole new decking plate to accommodate the pedals that can't be moved. That will be somewhere down the road should I get that far or don't get the itch to trade this for something different. I'll enjoy this one while I have it and can get it running properly.

Open the load needle to see if the spit and sputter stop.

930 CK and 1030 CK have wider more comfortable operator platforms compared to 730 CK and 830 CKs.

Nice looking tractor, must have been well care for.

Those platforms are not wider, they are just further back so you dont have to go around the steering column and over the clutch/brake pedals as much.

I have the tank off and it's was pretty much plugged with gunk. How would I go about cleaning the tank for any more sediment? I know this 830 tank is different from the SC I have. Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. I'm hoping that was the main issue for the tractor not running decent. I'll be going thru the supply line and carb, cleaning them out of any sediment that may have made it's way there.

I have heard that the E85 gas will clean them out, helped a lot on my 1030 tank.

E85 to clean the tank out but not too run in the engine? Doesn't the ethanol gas wreak havock on older engines? Or does that mostly pertain to small engines? Thanks for the tip, Jon.

If you can saw horse/teeder toder the tank, a dog chain with a cord tied to it for retrieval, will scrub the bottom for you.

That sounds similar to how I cleaned out my SC tank. I used nuts and bolts with a solution to break up the rust in it. I do have the tank off and will get to cleaning that up. I'm looking at the wiring of the dash. It's quite the conglomeration. A couple wires are for the dash lights, it looks like three bulbs, one of the socket holders is missing. There are covers for the dash lights, correct? Does anyone have a picture of them? The l light down by the brakes has a holder in the pic attached. If anyone has a wiring diagram that would be appreciated too.

Here's what my dash wiring currently looks like. The bulb for the temp gauge isn't hooked up at all. Then there's the wires below the bar that were just taped over. There are a couple wires under the deck that aren't connected to anything but th
