Any tricks on making a temporary gas tank

I use a one liter pop bottle and some fuel tubing to make a temporary fuel tank for our TO-30. I wired it to the steering wheel so I could set the OH valves hot and running.

Do you need to use any sealant or glue?

If I was needing a quicky supply of fuel for a short period of time I'd use a quart plastic bottle and a screw on cap that has a nozzle like the type on a bottle of Lucas additive. After filling and inverting you could make a hole to let air in. But I would steer away from rigging like that for gas on a running engine.

I’ve got several old outboard boat motor tanks I use.

Not glamorous, but works good.
Came on a Sears --with B&S engine-- rototiller, has a glass sediment bowl and everything. Since im a 12 voter, an old generator mount got repurposed to clamp to an old air filter.
Its safe to drive around to test.

I used a gas tank from an old lawn mower I had.

I rigged up something similar over 20 years ago with a 1 gallon tank. 1 gallon is good for 45 minutes to an hour of brush hogging or wood chipping, my two main tractor projects. I keep saying I will mount the gas tank when I find a good hood...

I am doing engine work on my 49 8N. I don't want to put all the sheet metal and tank back on to test the engine.

Looking for ideas that have worked as a temporary gas tank. Thinking of maybe a soup can that I can put on the seat and running a line to the carb.

I am sure others have done this. Looking for the easiest and quickest reliable way to get er done.

Old lawnmower tank or a universal windshield washer resivoir from auto parts store. I put no more than a quart in a test tank incase of fire. I anchore mine on top of the tool box with safety wire.

Mine has a fuel pump so first I had a jug but Lawn mower tank works too.
