Propane farmall 806

I am having trouble finding an alternator for my propane powered 806. Anyone out there have a propane 806? Do you have part number for the alternator by any chance? thanks

Take your alternator off and take it to any automotive supply store and they will have one or be able to order one

uses the same alt. that every later model 806 uses , gas , diesel , and propane . Same alt used on the mid 1960 G M cars and trucks. . Just the pulley is different on the tractor verses the car light tuck line. Amp wise 48 to 65 amp out put .

Photo please? Have you always owned this tractor? The alternator may have been changed to Delco 10SI one wire. Originally the early models had a generator. The original alternator on an 806 would be a Delco 10DN that requires an external voltage regulator. Aside from the large BAT terminal it had a plug coming in from the back with two spade terminals orientated like this “l l”. The later produced Delco 10SI originally was a three wire, one large stud terminal and two spade terminal wires plugging into the outer diameter at the back edge laid out like this “- -“ those terminals are on the internal regulator. When converted to a one wire there is often a block off plug on them.
Part of what I am saying is if it was an original generator model it has very likely been converted to a 10SI.

I have checked with 2 auto parts stores and 1 alternator shop (by phone). My old alternator still has numbers on it but they don't match anything. The alternator they show me that is labeled for an 806 will not work on my tractor. The bottom mounting whole is too small. I was trying to save a 100 mile trip to the alternator shop, but it seems that is my only choice.

My guess is at some point the bottom hole was drilled out in your bracket and a 7/16” bolt installed because it was run loose and vibrated/wollered the holes out in the bracket. Or it was a generator equipped tractor and during the swap over to an alternator they found different lower mount that used a bigger bolt. This means in either case they just drilled the bottom hole in the alternator out to fit the bolt.
