Fades terribly and since a trailer will sit most likely in the sun, it would do it within a couple years. Painted a horse trailer with red Rustoleum once, it is now a dull pink.Any good luck using plain 'ol Rustoleum?
Well, this is an old trailer that is crusty yellow, not too worried about fading- maybe new CAT yellowFades terribly and since a trailer will sit most likely in the sun, it would do it within a couple years. Painted a horse trailer with red Rustoleum once, it is now a dull pink.
Depends on the appearance you want and how long you want the paint to last. If you want it to really last strip the paint down to the bare metal and use an epoxy primer. Then topcoat with automotive paint. If you just want to spruce it up a little wash it good and then use a knotted wire wheel and clean it down to bare metal any place that is rusting. Then use a metal primer on the spots and topcoat with an oil based enamel. I like the Rustoleum Farm & Implement paint.best way to paint my 16 ft bumper pull trailer, metal only
Thick paint also traps moisture in rust pits and gives rust a better growing environment and keeps rust hidden until something falls off.The secret to a good brush job is thick paint. To thin and it doesn’t cover very good, and thick tends to flatten out as it dries.
