Any good videos out there for painting two cylinders especially an H ?

Well, if you want to know it all, - it could fill a high school shop course. Most of the time videos miss a few critical details which ruins the job. What's your goal, - a parade or working tractor, - or - a show tractor? It's not rocket science but the basics include proper preparation, cleanliness and a high quality paint system.

Not expo by any means but did a ground up resto so pretty darn good. I know about the cleaning and good equipment. Just thought there might be a vid out there to get me going with at least some basics...

If you need to know the basics, how do you know you did the prep correctly? If you haven't got a coat of primer on it already your probably already in trouble!

There’s an old video series “how to paint a tractor” that covers a lot if you haven’t ever done one. Picking the classic green shade you like is the only thing that’s really specific.

If you use Deere paint my ratio is 1 oz hardener 2 oz thinner 10oz paint (this paint amount has varied on temp as air temp cools it creeps towards 8oz paint at 60 degrees) classic green seems to be pretty easy to work with. Usually I get 2 batches in a gun if I’m going after a large area but you can start with one medium or low speed hardener from napa. I’ve never attempted fast I have enough trouble getting it out of the gun with medium fast enough but it flashes pretty quick and you can do 2 coats a day when it’s 80 degrees. It polishes really nice too with that hardener she will shine.

I paint with a mask and outside summer time it’s best no wind and consistent temps above 55 and below 90. Don’t breathe the stuff in. The other thing about not being afraid to buff when you are done is this is
bugs don’t matter at much you will be polishing anyway. they buff out. It’s been how I keep from breathing the stuff in as best I can.

I don't know where your at, Im about in the middle west, and the cottonwood has been done here for over a month ago.
