4020 Gas MS Carb

Is it possible that boiling the gas in a MS carb could bend the float changing the float level adjustment? The story; my 3020-diesel started leaking at the hydraulic pump, so I put my 4020 gas on the haybine. It was pretty hot and I just wanted to make one more round and it started running rough and quit. I just let it set and the next day I moved it out of the way; it seemed to run ok. When I started baling with my 4020 diesel I got down to two rounds and noticed the tire was cut and going down. I put the gas 4020 on the JD 510 and tried to finish up, it would run strong under power for a short period and then quit. I pulled the carb and checked for trash, it was clean, I installed a new fuel pump still no dice. Of course, in the meantime it rained. I removed the carb took it home and got out the JD Service Manual. The float was not letting fuel into the carb, after adjustment it ran perfectly. Finished the baling and hauled all the bales off the field with it. My question is how did the float adjustment change on a tractor that hasn't had the carb opened up in 4 years?

Sometimes I’ve had a Ms float start to leak with a pinhole crack as the metal warms up and expands it opens. If they are bad enough you can see the pinhole bubbling

That usually causes it to flood out however.

I wonder if you might have a blockage along the way from tank to carb possibly and she runs for awhile then looses it. It might be in the carb itself if she got better when taking it apart there is a screen I believe behind a screw.

They also use that priming pump on the side of the block and that can cause some trouble too
