8N fender brackets for mounting lights

Hello, My question relates to the fender bracket. It seems the bottom of it fit the same two holes used for the fender brace behind but the top hole just doesn't make it. Fenders needed work but I thought I got the contour pretty good. Don't know if I should bend the top part of the bracket hoping to get it up to the existing mounting hole or what. The fender brace that mounts to the tractor I think is good. Drilling a hole at the top would put it very close to the top hole and would seem sloppy. Should this bracket fit the three existing holes that are used for the behind the fender mounting brace? Any ideas on how to proceed? thanks (there were no brackets on the fenders when I bought it - but there are a lot of holes so maybe homemade brackets were used)

I would try bending the bracket first to see if I liked the looks. If I didn’t ,I would add in 5/8 inch at the easiest spot.

If t'were me I wouldn't bend the bracket because that would put the light mounting base off square to the ground.
so if you wanted to redirect the light beam by turning the light, your adjustment would deviate from the straight side to side directional adjustment of the beam.

Drill a new hole and put a small stainless plate with an arched top and with a corresponding hole thru it as well, between bracket and fender to hide that existing.hole.

Thanks for your thoughts. While I probably could bend it, I'm not convinced I could match the top hole. I hate to drill another hole but I think that is the route I'm going to take. I have one idea I'm going to try about making a short spacer/extension just to see if that would work. I called the vendor where I bought these from that do restorations and they said if the two bottom holes match up, (which they do) use those and that will be very stable. But then do drill that top hole. He said these are aftermarket brackets - I figured as much, but all vendors seem to have the same one available. In retrospect, I wish I had bought these before I started the restoration. I had lots of holes and some bigger than others. I'm just wondering if I made the holes slightly oblong if then the current three point holes would work.

I recently bought one from waltstractors-com, and it fit well. It may have actually been sourced from D.C.

Thanks for the picture. So you did not have to drill a new top hole - it fit to the hole where the fender and steel brace behind meet?
