Anybody used (using) a IHC model 82 pull type combine ?

Like to get your opinion of the combine. Like to know more about that combine use in on all crops . I got a a AC model 72 to compare it to.
I had an 80. Don't know how comparable they are to an 82. It sure did not have much capacity in oats. Combined along side my cousin with an A-6 Case. No comparison. The Case had twice the capacity.

I have two AC model 66's and one 90. And a chap around the corner from one of our farms had an 82 I spent a lot of time around.

The IH is ten times the combine the All-Crops are. The all crops were incredibly popular because they were cheap enough to bring combining ability to farms everywhere, and could do every crop type. But the AC's were built light and flimsy, and there were several aspects of their design that were downright foolish and cheap. And for any common grains/cereals, the IH will do at least as good a job threshing as the AC. Probably better than the AC, because at this age all the rubber concave in those all-crops are worn down and uneven.

I'd take the IH hands down. But condition is everyrhing.

Gramps had an AC66 since before he got the 91 and 93 through his dealership. Back then, in addition to his own wheat, oats and beans, he did a great deal of custom work for others, and one of his guys had been running the 66 behind a Farmall M for years and was quite good with it. He had enough work to cover that they kept using the 66, sometimes in the same field. When the first 706D showed up, the M went away, and that guy was in hog heaven with the 706D, IPTO, power steering, nice seat, even an umbrella

I don't have an 82 (or 80) either. I do have a A-C 72. It sits in the shed while my MH 60 gets used. The 72 has 100 places to grease it and does not have a lot of courage. The small diameter cylinder seems plug easily. It does do a nice job on beans without breaking many.
