Hesston baler issues

I have a Hesston 530 round baler that has started to act up. When I was using it a day ago I had the tailgate open up which caused a stall out on the pickup and needing to dump an untied bale. Really dry hay. Tried to bale some millet hay today and didn't get a bale done. The tailgate kept opening up. Looked at the manual and it refers to adjusting the gate latch but shows nothing as to how to do that. Any advice?

Follow up question. I have seen that my issue with the baler could be caused by internal cylinder issues. I put it in the shed the other day but didn't insert the pins to take pressure off of the belts. Checking on it I noticed that the latch is now completely open. Will this be an indication of failing cylinders?

Sounds like a hydraulic issue to me. I have a 540 and if the baler sits for any length of time, or the tractor gets shut off, I always open and close the door to "tighten" up the belts as everything slackens eventually with the tractor off. I'd be inclined to check the valve on the tractor by using another set of remotes, or another tractor..

Thanks. The baler wasn't hooked up as I was using the tractor to square bale the field instead. Right now it's in the shed with the relief pins installed.
