JD H magneto no spark

Hey everyone. I am working in a 48 H for a guy and have a question or two. Guy just bought this H and it died on the driveway and has no spark. I have zero experience with JDs at all and definitely not much with mags. I believe the coil to be fine as it was a hot spark from it, but nothing is transferred over to the distributor. The guy was touching the wire from the coil to the distributor when I was rolling the flywheel over and can attest to it having power to that wire. I am fairly certain this is going to be a case of points/condenser but I want to test the coil for my price of mind and his. How do I test the coil on this magneto? There is no kill switch and the coil wire side is good, how do I test the side that goes to the points/condenser?
