Allis-Chalmers CA Rear Drive

I have a AC and I replaced the clutch thing it was worn and slipping. It needed it anyway. All back together now drove it this morning and drove fine. It sat all day after that I went to park it and it drove for a little the very slow then it didn't move. What should I be looking for? I have the repair manual, but I don't see the hand clutch anywhere in it.

Adjust the hand levers clearance. You need some free-play in the lever.

It may or may not have a hand clutch anymore. I bought one that a C axle was put in place of the assembly.

I still have the hand clutch. I watched a few videos on this looks to me like it could use some more spacers in that clutch. Am i on the right track?
I guess my question is why all of a sudden this happened? But i did notice before it wouldn't move it was acting like loose of power or the clutch off the engine was slipping.

No sir just the clutch and pressure plate by the engine was done.

Welcome to the forums.

Having owned a couple CAs, like the Dr, your title of Allis-Chalmers CA Rear Drive and you calling it the clutch thing, gave me the impression you were talking about the hand clutch in the rear axle. In a case like this you should specify you worked on the engine clutch.

Do you have a copy of the original AC "Power is Knowledge" manual or an aftermarket I&T manual? AC called it a hand clutch. I&T called it the Final Drive Clutch in the manual I have.

No sir just the clutch and pressure plate by the engine was done.

You wouldn't by chance put the clutch plate in backward. The spline center is longer on one side than the other. It might have grabbed enough to move the tractor a little. I pulled new clutch plates out of scrap tractors that were in backwards.
The only clutch picture I could find that would show the side of the clutch plate would go in the center of the flywheel was one I was when I was looking for one for a pulling tractor. I thought I had more clutch pictures.
