Ford 3 cylinder identification

So I am in a bit of a dilemma. I am posting this here because of it having a ford engine. I ended up getting a new holland skidsteer that has a ford 3 cylinder diesel. Can someone tell me a year range and what this engine may be out of so I can order an injection pump? The dealership was no help at all.

What model skid steer? The engine might be in the specs for it. How about pictures showing the whole engine?

L785 skidsteer. Issue is the previous owner changed the motor and the guy I got it from had no info of what it was from or a year. The injection pump on it not sure if it is correct for it. Number on the pump is 3833 f 390. The skidsteer comes back as a 1991. Maybe I am making this harder than it should be.

D5NN6015G is the engine block casting code. D5 means the casting was designed in 1975, NN means designed by the Ford tractor division for use within the Ford tractor division, 6015 means engine block, and G is the revision designation. The D at the beginning of the serial number means that it was originally mated to a 4000-series tractor - agricultural- or industial counterpart such as TLB from the same era. When searching the web with the casting code the most common match, among others, is from a Ford 4600 tractor. This means a 3 Cyl 201 cu in engine.

D5NN6015G is the engine block casting code. D5 means the casting was designed in 1975, NN means designed by the Ford tractor division for use within the Ford tractor division, 6015 means engine block, and G is the revision designation. The D at the beginning of the serial number means that it was originally mated to a 4000-series tractor - agricultural- or industial counterpart such as TLB from the same era. When searching the web with the casting code the most common match, among others, is from a Ford 4600 tractor. This means a 3 Cyl 201 cu in engine.

So would it be safe to say the 3833f390 injection pump would be suitable replacement?

The L785 parts book shows a Ford diesel as an option with a note. "ENGINE; Complete Engine, L785;DO NOT use a standard BSD engine. The injection pump, injectors, and water pump are different." For one of the replacement reman engine options the parts book calls it out as a 3 cylinder 192 naturally aspirated.

That was what I came across. That was why I was hoping someone could tell by the casting or serial number what this engine was out of. I was doubtful someone replaced it with another skidsteer version of the engine.

That's interesting. According to my references, Ford never made a 192 ci 3 cylinder diesel until 1981 for the 3610/3900/3910 series tractors. The block casting number says that the casting was designed in 1965 and the engine serial number says that it was made for a 4xxx series tractor, so the engine might have been swapped out at some point.... Oh wait, I just read the post where the OP says that the engine was swapped out. My best guess based on that is that it is a 201 ci diesel originally built for the 1965-1975 4000 series.

Sean, I hate to argue but C is for the decade '60s and D is '70s so D5 is 1975, correct me if I'm wrong.

It is a 201 but for a 4600 instead of a 4000

Original Ford engine for a L785 was a derated 3.3L/201ci 3 cylinder, this engine was also used in the early 3930 ag tractor and other industrial models
Parts shows the injectors were also used in the later used in the 3930 models with the 192 engine
Diesel Teck can decode the pump info and repair the pump. Your original pump rebuilt would be way better to have than any of the offshore pump’s available today

I have no idea but diesel tech can tell you, if he rebuilds it he can recalibrate it to the engine
